Foi com grande satisfação que participei como faculty no Mega Curso do Ombro da Arthrex, que decorreu nos dias 25 e 26 de fevereiro, na sede da Arthrex, em Munique.
Durante o curso, tive a oportunidade de partilhar a minha experiência na reparação de roturas massivas da coifa dos rotadores, bem como na abordagem às roturas irreparáveis, onde apresentei a técnica de bíceps smash. Realizei ainda uma cirurgia pioneira que integrou uma membrana sintética no tecido da longa porção do bicípite, aplicada sobre o supraespinhal — uma técnica inovadora, realizada pela primeira vez.
No âmbito das demonstrações cirúrgicas, executei também uma artroplastia total invertida do ombro com haste curta e aumento metálico em cunha na metaglene, em formato de live surgery.
Os participantes tiveram depois a oportunidade de aplicar, em peças cadavéricas no wet lab, todas as técnicas apresentadas, num ambiente de elevada qualidade científica e formativa.

I was delighted to participate as faculty in the Arthrex Shoulder Mega Course, held on 25–26 February at Arthrex headquarters in Munich.
During the course, I shared my experience in the repair of massive rotator cuff tears, as well as treatment options for irreparable tears, where I presented the biceps smash technique. I also performed a pioneering procedure incorporating a synthetic membrane into the long head of the biceps tissue, applied over the supraspinatus — an innovative technique performed for the first time.
As part of the surgical demonstrations, I also performed a live reverse total shoulder arthroplasty using a short stem and a metallic wedge augmentation in the metaglene.
Participants were then able to apply all the presented techniques on cadaveric specimens in the wet lab, within a highly valuable scientific and educational environment.
