Foi um enorme privilégio participar como faculty no 6.º Congresso da SPOC – Sociedade Portuguesa de Ombro e Cotovelo, em Coimbra, onde tive a oportunidade de apresentar o tema “Planeamento pré-operatório – como transformar imagens em decisões cirúrgicas”.
Parabéns à organização, em especial à Direção da SPOC, e em particular à Dra. Ana Inês , por um congresso de elevado nível científico, marcado pela qualidade das discussões, partilha de experiência e ambiente de grande colaboração entre colegas dedicados à cirurgia do ombro e cotovelo.
O planeamento 3D é hoje uma ferramenta indispensável na artroplastia do ombro, permitindo uma abordagem mais precisa, previsível e personalizada para cada doente. Neste contexto, o software VIP (Virtual Implant Positioning) da Arthrex tem sido fundamental na minha prática clínica diária, ajudando a transformar imagens em decisões cirúrgicas mais seguras e eficientes.

It was a great privilege to participate as faculty at the 6th SPOC Congress – Portuguese Shoulder and Elbow Society, held in Coimbra, where I had the opportunity to present the topic “Preoperative planning – transforming imaging into surgical decisions.”
Congratulations to the organizing committee and the SPOC leadershi, in particular to Dra. Ana Inês, for delivering an outstanding scientific meeting, with high-level discussions, knowledge sharing, and a truly collaborative atmosphere among colleagues dedicated to shoulder and elbow surgery.
3D planning has become an essential tool in shoulder arthroplasty, enabling more precise, predictable, and patient-specific surgical strategies. In this setting, the Arthrex VIP (Virtual Implant Positioning) software has become a key part of my daily practice, helping transform imaging into safer and more efficient surgical decisions.
