SECEC Congress 2026 | Barcelona
It was a privilege to participate as Invited Faculty at the SECEC Congress 2026, held in Barcelona from 2–4 September.
I had the opportunity to join the session “Structural Augmentation in Rotator Cuff Repair”, alongside an international panel of experts, discussing current concepts and different strategies for augmentation in rotator cuff repair.
In my presentation, “How I select and perform augmentation in my daily practice”, I shared my experience and decision-making process for patient selection, tailoring the augmentation strategy to the characteristics of each tear and each patient.
In particular, I presented my experience with the REGENETEN Bioinductive Implant, as well as techniques using the long head of the biceps tendon as a biological and structural reinforcement of the repair, including Routing and Biceps Smash techniques.
It was an excellent opportunity to share experience, compare different approaches, and discuss indications, surgical techniques and outcomes with internationally recognised colleagues in shoulder surgery.

Foi um privilégio participar como Faculty Convidado no SECEC Congress 2026, realizado em Barcelona de 2 a 4 de setembro.
Tive a oportunidade de integrar a sessão “Structural Augmentation in Rotator Cuff Repair”, ao lado de um painel internacional de especialistas, discutindo conceitos atuais e diferentes estratégias de augmentação na reparação da coifa dos rotadores.
Na minha apresentação, “How I select and perform augmentation in my daily practice”, partilhei a minha experiência e o meu processo de decisão na seleção de doentes, adaptando a estratégia de augmentação às características de cada lesão e de cada doente.
Em particular, apresentei a minha experiência com o Implante Bioindutor REGENETEN, bem como técnicas que utilizam o tendão da longa porção do bicípite como reforço biológico e estrutural da reparação, incluindo as técnicas de Routing e Biceps Smash.
Foi uma excelente oportunidade para partilhar experiência, comparar diferentes abordagens e discutir indicações, técnicas cirúrgicas e resultados com colegas de reconhecimento internacional na cirurgia do ombro.
